Version 3 of soSIMPLE Calendar introduced the capability to build and use your calendar with or without FileMaker Server.
We refer to these two modes as:
- Standalone mode
Runs without the requirement for FileMaker Server. Can run standalone, peer-to-peer, or hosted on FileMaker Server. - Server-Powered mode
Requires FileMaker Server and a PHP installation.
There are advantages and disadvantages to each mode. In general, Standalone mode can be quicker to get up and running since it doesn’t require any server-side configuration, while Server-Powered mode adds more flexibility and features. See how these two general calendar modes compare.
