FileMaker today announces a huge new upgrade of their entire FileMaker product line: FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go and FileMaker Server, for Mac, Windows, iPad and iPhone/iPod.

The upgrade to FileMaker 12 represents the FileMaker platform embracing and leveraging more modern and industry standard techniques. For example, by using CSS as the backend to its new layout engine, your database will start looking more like what you see online. Altogether a very worthwhile upgrade – a much bigger leap than their upgrade to FM11.
Some the highlights of FileMaker 12:
- FileMaker Go for the iPad and iPhone/iPod is now free.
- More support for style standards on iOS devices.
- Layout engine completely overhauled so that your interface can be cleaner, slicker and easier on the eyes.
- Containers have been completely rewritten to handle large media files quickly and securely.
- Charting has grown up – now has 5 new chart types and easier-to-create charts
- Lots of under-the-hood improvements for speed and flexibility.
