Introducing soSIMPLE Calendar Add-on for FileMaker 19
We’re adding features to soSIMPLE Calendar all the time. If you’d like to help impact the direction that soSIMPLE Calendar is taking, we would love your input. We’ve created a 4 minute survey just for you! Click here let us know what you’d like to see:
Here are some of the features we’re considering for future releases:
- Gantt Chart
We already have a pretty flexible resource-based timeline, but many people want to map out their timeline using project-based milestones. This gantt chart may include multiple projects, collapsible projects or task groups to see summaries, drag & drop (of course) to reorganize the chart, dependencies (again drag & drop), milestones, etc. - Drag & Drop to-do list
Added efficiency – list your outstanding to-dos & undated tasks along the the side of the calendar, and drag them onto the calendar to automatically schedule them. Nothing increases your productivity like scheduling your tasks. - Multiple resources per day in weekly view
We already have a daily resource view and a timeline that can show resources for a week at a time, month at a time, etc. But some people have requested that we add the best of both worlds: a weekly view with multiple columns in each day for each resource. Like the resource view, but for a whole week. - Map view that works in standalone & client view
Have you tried our Map view?? You can easily see events for the day literally mapped out – using Google maps. Because it dynamically looks up geo coordinates and populates the database dynamically (potentially running client scripts multiple times), we’ve kept it only for server-side async. Is this a tool you’d like to see in your standalone or client-side calendar? - Separate calendar navigation tool
To jump between dates, we have a drop-down calendar navigation tool right in the menu bar. While we have felt it’s been a better use of screen real estate, we’ve had some requests to move or copy our calendar navigation to live next to the calendar, allowing single-click navigation between dates. What do you think? - Dynamic url-adjustable timeline
Sort of a tweak to our existing timeline views. You can currently create a resource-based timeline view for a single day, a week, two weeks, or a month. But if you want to adjust that timeline on the fly, you’d have to go back to the Calendar Settings file to change it. How about we add to our dynamic url adjustments to include the ability to stretch and shrink the timeline dynamically using a global field?
