… then I showed soSIMPLE Calendar. Demoed the calendars I built in KBI Hub, different tabs, filtering by resource, drag-and-drop modifications, etc. Showed the extensive customization options in soSIMPLE Calendar Settings, showed how the exact same interface shows up via web, and showed how it interfaces with iCal.
The thing I really emphasized is the concept behind SSC. Building a native, perpetual calendar in Filemaker is really, really hard. But SSC takes care of that with some expert programming in HTML, PHP, Java, and Ajax, and it creates the calendar interface on our FileMaker data. I kept emphasizing how this data is all in FileMaker giving us the power to do any of the customization we already know in terms of scripts, layouts, calculations, etc., but it gets presented to us via SSC in one giant programmable webviewer.
I think it knocked their socks off. There were some audible ooohs and aaaahs in the group when I presented certain features. And a lot of heads shaking in disbelief.
